Default Will you be buying expansions if the PvE content keeps suffering?

I, for one, will not be buying expansions if the PvE content continues down the path that ArenaNet has created.

Reasoning
1.) Enchantment removing mobs are everywhere. Why even leave the enchantments in the game?
2.) Farming is gone to shizzle (in the words of Snoop Dogg). I farm for fun.
3.) It's easier to unlock things through PvP than PvE.
4.) People who win in the Hall of Heroes can make more money in a few fights than a PvE player can make in a day.

Depends how stale pve gets. If new life is injected via the expansions, then yes. If it's just new areas, then no.

People should understand that the PvE aspect is a game, like any single player RPG. Once you're done, you're done. In order to keep PvE alive, Anet needs to give us new incentive to play, goals that we need to try a little harder than normal to reach--like the ancient cave in Lufia II, for example

Or let us bring henchmen into the Underworld / Fissure >_>

I will buy the first expansion but depending on how that goes I would just check back peridiocaly and only play when I was needed for GvG or a friend wanted help.

I will buy the expansion because I am determined to get a completely filled-in map and do every darn quest in the game AND get fissure armor no matter how long it takes. That's the advantage to being an old coot playing this game: I have the patience necessary to do it.

LOL i can easily see that happening...

I for one will buy the expansions, However i love to PvP and try to get to the hall. Our guild only held it once before dieing to koreans... X_X.

Gotten there plenty with the guild and PUGS but cant seem to win it.

Aside, if i was a PvE player, i wouldnt buy the expansion unless they fixed farming, and all those disenchant mobs.

I was sold on this game from my first installation and playtime. I will buy anything they put out, because I love this game.

I plan to get them if other games don't drain me of money. I haven't really noticed any suckage with the PvE. Stop complaining.

1.) Enchantment removing mobs are everywhere. Why even leave the enchantments in the game? - I don't use enchantments.
2.) Farming is gone to shizzle (in the words of Snoop Dogg). I farm for fun. - I don't farm.
3.) It's easier to unlock things through PvP than PvE. - I don't care about unlocking things.
4.) People who win in the Hall of Heroes can make more money in a few fights than a PvE player can make in a day. - I can't find a group that doesn't use TS/Vent, to get to HoH.

Your whole wording is very biased and loaded. You don't JUST wonder how many people agree with you. You're actually trying to make them agree with you.

Because of your word of choice this is pretty much a rant.

The rest of your post in this threads too are flamebaits.

Not that I don't concede there're many things wrong on the PvE side. There's a right way of voicing it out. This is not one of them.

What you want is pretty much easy money. You want money to flow like a river. Well too bad it isn't one of those games where even a zombie can play. If you like those, play EVEonline. I think the devs are even encouraging bots in the game. Little wonder since 95% of the time all you do is mine, and mine and mine resources. Heck even your ship has an auto-mine feature. All you need to do is to bring your cargo back home, every 2-4 hrs. Depending on the cargo. There's a farming game for you.

Want to play that kind of game? Go play EVE online and a myriad of others out there. Want to play a game where strategy and skill counts, along with fast fingers and reflexes? Play GW.

Now RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO off

Well, as it stands right now I'm making a trip to the local gamestore tomorrow to pick up WoW. Seeing as how I've seen all there is to see and done all there is to do, I need something else to fill the void and I'm not going back to counter-strike in the meantime. I'll still be playing GW, it'll just have some WoW competition for my time now.

I love the game too. And I will be sure to buy the first expansion when it comes out. And unless it happens to be severely disappointing (I mean really crap, not this "oh, we only added another 5 classes not 6" stuff ), I will buy all the expansions.

I really like the game, the frequent updates, and most of the community. If ANet holds at least semi-true to the "expansion will have just as much content" promise, I will be sure to buy them

That's why I love henchmen :3

And most of the time, they're smarter than the average PUG... kind of sad when you think about it

I like the fact that ArenaNet is trying to make playing the game a bit more challenging instead of letting it be stale.

1)Oh Noes! You keep getting your echantments removed? Try thinking a bit and finding something to counter that.

2)Farming was killed? Find a new way to exploit the system to increase your digital gold vault.

3)Easier to unlock things by PvP than PvE? Oh Noes! It is pretty much even in unlockability for both. If you can't unlock something one way, change, adapt, and conquer.

4)PvP players can make more money? Only if they have a good enough guild or group of friends to help them make that money, so get in a good guild or get some good friends.

If any of that is too hard for you, 'tis a shame.

I think that they need to hire game testers who actually know what needs to be fixed because in the current state, it's been stated that the devs hardly play their on game. I think those that do, don't look at the game from the view of your average gamer. From what i've heard none of the alphas play PvE and ever have. It seems everything we've ever enjoyed about the game is just being weeded out. The game was made instanced and you can't pk people in missions to cause grief, Which is nice and cute on paper but now you have people who can go and aggro 20 monsters and ruin the entire game just for fun to waste your hour or two, and then there's newbies that don't even do it on purpose, but you have to put up with it. They put a very well balanced skill system in the game and then buried it under mountains of grind. Every time there's some stability in the economy they throw in a curve that turns everything upside down and makes people grit their teeth and feel like they've just wasted their time. Unlike diablo the levels aren't randomly generated in guildwars, and the world isn't huge and uninstanced like WoW, Lineage, or any other MMO, this gives the average gamer very little reason to keep coming back. So where are we now in the current state of the game? It's just everything mixing in the game and people are quitting, find the game to be boring, or people who enjoy taking advantage of how all of the new non beta pvp players are horrible pwning newbies, while nearly all of the good beta guilds are now broken.

There's a thread here http://guildwars.ogaming.com/forum/i...howtopic=12483 that I found to be an interesting read.

lol.

Everything I've seen in the game indicates they play the hell out of it. The PVE is not some hack job, they spent a whole ton of time on it.

No I don't. I would love for it to be a challenge, with rewards proportional to the difficulty. All I want is for the area to stay once I find a build that can handle the area.
